Being Content

Recently I had a huge revelation. It happened while I was on a holiday in Kerela
After the floods and deluge there, we were scared of so many things before reaching there..
I was sitting by a river bank with a few of my friends - barefoot and carefree watching those fisherman's  working hard to reinstate what they  have lost..

Cold thrilling breeze at my back, my feet dipped in water and soothing sound of a flowing river in my ears, I realized just how happy I was in that moment.

No, not just happy. I was content.

That made me think back to all the other times in life I had been content. The more recollections I skimmed through the more I realized they all had one thing in common - money was the farthest thing from my mind in those moments.

What I'm trying to say is simply this - we have been conditioned to believe that we need a million things to be content, but when it comes down to the things that really matter, all you need is good company. Everything else is easily taken care of.

So if you must invest, invest in people. There is nothing as enriching as a genuine human connection. Nothing like looking into the eyes of another to find the echoes of the laughter in your heart. Let the money be for other things.

All you need to be truly content is the right people to share your joy with.
Choose those people wisely and there will be no one as rich as you in the whole world.

Till next time,
Shubham
